Meningitis Research Foundation

Meningitis Research Foundation was supported to align the Meningitis awareness project in Northern Uganda with MoH strategy on Meningitis.

In January 2019- the team was supported to work with the Ministry of Health to develop two sets of training materials for community Health workers and health workers from health centre (HC) II, up to hospital levels. MRF had several follow up meetings at both MoH and District level to get the project started in April 2019.

University of Salford

The Alliance Supported a team visit from University of Salford and provided linkage to Gulu University and Makerere University to explore opportunities for Research Collaboration in One Health.

Leprosy Project

The Alliance Supported Leprosy at Utale Village on extending its Livelihood Support Programs for People affected with Leprosy (PALs) to Uganda, provided linkage to the National TB and Leprosy Control Program at MoH and obtained data on PALs to guide implementation of the project.

Antimicrobial Stewardship Projects.

UUKHA Provided continued logistical support to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Projects funded by THET for Gulu and University of Manchester, Cambridge Global Health Partnerships and Infectious Diseases Institute in form of arranging meetings, financial management and technical advice.

London School of Economics- The Localised Evidence and Decision-making (LEAD) Project

The LEAD, hosted by LSE’s Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa in partnership with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine aims to address the need for locally-relevant evidence for public health decision-making. UUKHA supported the preparations for a series of workshops held in October, 2019 by providing linkage to the Vector Control Division at MoH, identifying participants of the workshop, and overall logistical support for the workshops.
